Hygeia was founded in 1939 in Galway City by Dr. Donny Coyle. His mission was to create quality agrochemicals and home garden products at the right price to the Irish market. He succeeded in that goal and the company has over 70 years experience in the home garden and agricultural market in Ireland and the UK. Agrichem International Ltd. based at Peterborough UK, is a fully owned subsidiary of Hygeia and specialises in seed treatments to the agricultural sector.
